Cityceased is about a city of the dead where you exist as long as you are remembered by someone on earth. As visitors to the city from the world of the living, you- the audience- will tour the city. Characters find and lose one another by being remembered or forgotten, they search for a connection with those they've loved in the land of the living, and fight to be remembered. The show is at times humorous and energetic, sometimes challenging and sad, and will hopefully strike a meaningful vein for you.
A couple of notes about moving. We walk about a mile throughout the cemetery, sometimes watching a scene as you pass and sometimes stopping to view a scene. If you have difficulty walking around one of the nearby lakes, you might have difficulty keeping up with Cityceased. The show will run about 70-80 minutes, and when we stop at a scene you are free to sit down on the grass. People have inquired as to whether they can bring a chair to the performance. It is not recommended, since there is a lot of moving, but a small fold up stool, or a small mat to sit on would do.
Cityceased is collaboratively created and inspired by a number of sources, especially inspired by the location- Lakewood Cemetery. Four performers and two musicians travel on the journey around the cemetery as images, music, words and stories weave together to form the fabric of the city.
